Welcome to Scott and Bailey.com the brand new website for the famous ITV Drama Series!
Scott and Bailey follows the personal and professional lives of our favourite female detectives Janet Scott and Rachel Bailey and their boss Gill Murray. It is based on an original idea by Suranne Jones and Sally Lindsay, who took the concept to executive producer Nicola Shindler. She brought in writer Sally Wainwright and Scott & Bailey was commissioned. It is produced by Manchester-based Red Production Company and is largely filmed in the Greater Manchester area.
Rachel and Janet are close friends with different personalities: Rachel is impulsive and free-thinking, whereas Janet is subtle and wise. These two women have equally demanding personal and professional lives and the strain of the job and their own relationships can sometimes test their friendship but at the end of Series 3 we saw them reconcile after boss and friend Gill was captured and held hostage.
The show also follows many of their colleagues in Syndicate 9 Major Incident Team and has proved hugely popular with TV audiences. It's third series finished airing in May 2013 and a fourth has been commissioned to start filming on location in Greater Manchester this spring.
